We were incredibly lucky to have Laxmi from Himalayan Action as our guide on our recent Tsum Valley/Manaslu Circuit Trek. Laxmi shared her knowledge of the region, its people and cultures with us and always happy to answer our questions.  Laxmi made us feel quite safe on what is quite a challenging trek, always making sure we were doing ok and most importantly ensuring we were probably acclimatised before attempting the Larkya Pass.
Along with Laxmi, the other hero of our trip was Shukra, our porter. The two of them made sure we were well looked after along the track and in the guesthouses.  Now back home we have fond memories of our trip and we miss Laxmi and Shukra's cheerful "subha bihanis" in the mornings.

We felt so lucky have been guided on our trek to the Tsum Valley and Manaslu circuit by Laxmi. She was cheerful, helpful, knowledgeable and focused on keeping us safe and happy. She's also the Nepal 10x MTB  champ!! We're not sure what she thought of getting teamed up with an older couple, around 60, who started moaning if they didn't get a coffee break mid-morning, but we felt like we'd won the lottery.

Himalayan Action is the ultimate local logistics partner for any serious adventure in Nepal. Their expertise is second to none and Laxmi—who seems to know absolutely everyone—ensures seamless on-the-ground coordination, no matter the complexity of the journey. Laxmi is Nepals 10x enduro champion which is probably why she knows everyone (and everyone knows her!). On a side note, Laxmi runs the Non profit Nepal Cycling school, getting kids into cycling. Ask her all about it, fantastic passion project of hers.
From jeeps and trucks to helicopters, planes and permits, they have access to the resource needed to make remote or high altitude travel smooth and efficient. We personally experienced their service on the Annapurna circuit (which Laxmi has raced a number of times), but their real specialty and interest lies in more off-the-beaten-path expeditions, such as Upper Mustang, Western Nepal etc. They are always on a rekki making new routes. We did Annapurna Circuit in late January/early February 2025 (off season) by bike. And we were so lucky to find Himalayan Action guys who helped us to organize our trip. They gave us priceless advice on how to split the route (by days), how and where to acclimatize to the high altitude, what to expect in the off-season, what to take and what not to take with you, how to interact with the locals etc.

Laxmi herself is originally from Nepal and lives there permanently. She does mountain biking professionally and shares her knowledge with others. She’s a reliable companion on any adventure. And that is exactly what you need in the mountains, especially if you are a beginner like me.

They organise tours with guides and porters/support/heli/flight tickets  (if you need) and can also help you make your own route and contact the guesthouses in advance to make sure they are open when you are there, in case if you don’t what the guide following you. In the off season do all the above is especially important because not all guesthouses are open and you don’t what to end up with our shelter when the sun is down.

The two of us went mountain biking with Himalayan Action for 6 days through the Napu Valley. The trip by bike through the valley was fantastic. We were well looked after, both in terms of the trip itself and the culinary and cultural aspects. Everything was very professional.

In Nov’24 I rode the Annapurna Circuit with Laxmi as our guide. It was an amazing experience and Laxmi was a fantastic guide.

Providing the behind the scenes support required for a successful adventure. Also on the bike she ensured everyone was happy and enjoying the trip. Local and up to date knowledge on the trails is essential in Nepal. Laxmi adapted the route based on this knowledge and also the groups riding ability.
