Everest Base Camp is one of the highest visiting tourist destination situated in Nepal at altitude of 5364 m asl. The Everest Base Camp in Nepal is the place from where the glory begins. It is base of the highest Peak in the world. Yearly many mountaineers come to conquer the highest peak. The way to camp boasts the land of Sherpa’s, who are well renowned for their bravery and hardship. The site falls under the World Heritage Site UNESCO, with the unique cultural place of Sherpa people in Sagarmatha National Park, Nepal.

The Trekking comprises of the Natural beauty of the Sagarmatha National Park with highest peak and its range along with the beautiful varieties of flora and faunas of high altitude. Khumbu glacier, Kalapathhar, Himalayan range, clear weather, tradition culture of Tibetan, Snow leopard, Himalayan thar, Rhododendron etc are the achievable milestones in the route. The journey is generally started with the flight to Lukla Airport which itself is one of the excitement as it is considered to be one of the scariest airport in the world. The thrill changes into excitement after passing through the unique Sherpa village, their culture, white capped mountains, high altitude lifestyles, natural vistas, mountain constrains and the dare to conquer them all to witness the beauty.

Everest base camp trekking might be hilarious and lifetime achievement as we can witness the footprint of Great achievement of humankind, historical background of mountaineering, unique culture of Sherpas, spritiual tradition and encarved beauty along the trails in ‘mani stones’ and  natural scenarios. The trekking could be managed in different packages as the choice of the trekkers.

 

Outline Itinerary

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu (1300 m/4264 ft)

Day 02: Kathmandu: sightseeing and trek preparation

Day 03: Fly to Lukla, trek to Phakding (2,651m/8,700ft): 40 minutes flight; 8km, 3 - 4 hours trek

Day 04: Phakding to Namche Bazaar (3,438m/11,280 ft): 11km, 5 - 6 hours

Day 05: Namche Bazaar: Rest and acclimatization

Day 06:  Namche Bazaar to Tengboche (3860m/12,660 ft): 10km, 5 - 6 hours

Day 07: Tengboche to Dingboche (4,360 m/14,300 ft): 9km, 5 - 6 hours

Day 08: Dingboche: acclimatization and rest

Day 09: Dingboche to Chhukung (4750m/15,580 ft), climb Chhukung Ri (5,546m): 14km, 6 – 7 hours

Day 10: Cross to Kongma La pass (5535m/18,159ft), trek to Lobuche (4940m/16,210ft): 10km, 6 - 7 hours

Day 11: Lobuche to Gorak Shep (5170 m/16,961ft), visit Everest Base Camp (5364 m/17,594 ft): 13km, 6-7 hours

Day 12: Gorak Shep to Kala Patthar (5545 m/18,192 ft), then to Lobuche (4940 m/16,207 ft): 7km, 8 - 9 hours

Day 13: Lobuche to Dzongla (4830m/15,850 ft): 6km, 3 - 4 hours

Day 14: Trek to Gokyo (4800m/15,580 ft) via Cho La pass (5368m/17,611 ft): 6km, 7 - 8 hours

Day 15: Rest day in Gokyo: Climb Gokyo Ri (5357m/17,575 ft), tour 4th and 5th Gokyo lakes: 3 - 4 hours

Day 16: Gokyo to Marlung (4210m/13,810 ft) via Renjo La Pass (5360m/17585 ft): 11km, 7 - 8 hours

Day 17: Marlung to Namche Bazaar: 15km, 5 - 6 hours

Day 18: Namche Bazaar to Lukla: 19km, 6 - 7 hours

Day 19: Lukla to Kathmandu: 40 minutes flight

Day 20: Final Departure

 

 

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu (1,300m/4,264ft)

The Himalayan Action Treks and Tours representatives will receive you in the Tribhuvan International Airport at your arrival. The company will take you to your accommodation and manage for your resting. You will be guided with brief introduction about the trek by the experts. There will be Traditional Nepalese Dinner at your service by the company in the evening.

Day 02: Sightseeing and trek Preparation

The Kathmandu Valley is ancient city with its vibrant color of people and their culture. Historical monuments, temples, stupas, monasteries, museums are places of attractions. The city has much more interesting stories about people and their life so the day will be yours with them. We will be having a sightseen around these treasures and have final preparation for the Trekking.

Day 03: Fly to Lukla and trek to Phakding (2,651m/8,700ft): 8km, about 3 - 4 hours trek

Trekings will start with the exciting flight to Lukla. It will make your good starting with the eyecatching view of aerial views of hills, snowcapped mountain ranges and te beautiful landscapes. Around 45 min of flight, we will be in Lukla (9,186ft).  It is the gateway to the trekking to Everest. About an hour’s descent trek from Lukla, we will be in Cheplung village from where we have a glimpse of Mt. Khumbila (18900ft). The mountain has been a sacred mountain and with the eye catching view and decent to Phakding we will have our checkpoint to Phakding.

 

Day 04: Phakding to Namche Bazaar (3,438m/11,280 ft): 11km, 5 - 6 hours

We will be heading to the very sacred and historical land of Sherpas, the Namche Bazar which has been famous for the birthplace and unique cultural place of Sherpas.

We will cross the Dudh Koshi and pass Chumoa to Monjo on the Shade of beautiful pine forest with rhododendron. We will pass Jorsale village and a steep ascent will take us to the land of Sherpas. The Namche Bazaar is the place where we will have our night stay. 

Day 05: Acclimatization Day - Namche Bazaar: (3,440m/11,284ft)

The sunrise will let you engrave the beauty of Mt. Everest and the Mt. Lhotse. This might be what Sherpas are inspired by to be the best climbers in the world. We will be resting the day exploring the land of brave. We can do shopping, wonder in the village to explore Sherpa culture, visit Hillary School and enjoy the local tradition. The day is moreover a day to acclimatize you.

Day 06: Namche Bazaar to Tengboche (3,870m/12,694ft): 10km, 5 - 6 hours

The day will comprise a descent trek to Dudh-Koshi river and ascent to Tengboche. We will be passing through the pine and rhododendron forest in the sandy gravel to reach Tengboche. The spectacular view of Mt. Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse, Thamserku as well as the beautiful Ama Dablam will always welcome you in the way.

 

Day 07: Tengboche to Dingboche (4,360 m/14,300 ft): 9km, 5 - 6 hours

The eyecatching view of the lovely lofty mountains continues as we pass from the coniferous forest of pine, rhododendron, birch and fur. The Lovely view of the Ama Dablam is extraordinary. We will head to Devuche crossing the Imja River and then to the Pangboche. We can have the visit to Pangboche Monastery. Then will be headed to Dingboche via Imja Valley. Dingboche is filled with beautiful scenarios of arrayed field. The landscape will be mesmerizing with the eye-catching textures of the buck, wheat and potatoes as if the paintings done by the farmers in their field. We will have the nightstay at Dingboche

Day 08: Acclimatization

The beauty would be adhered by the day as we stay there for acclimatization. We can glare the beauty of the well textured field and the stone arrays that are meant to protect crop from grazing of livestocks. The day might include a short hike to nearby hills for spectacular view of Mt. Makalu, Lhotse, Tswache, Ama Dablam.

 

Day 09: Dingboche to Chhukung (4750m/15,580 ft), Chhukung Ri (5,546m): 14km, 6 / 7 hours

We will be passing via the beautifully barred fields. The stony walled would lead to trail to grazing land and place of Yak herders and we will be headed to Imja valley. Beautiful  Ama Dablam and Amphu Labsa mounatins will be seen fabulous. About an hour of walk take us to Chhuking. Then the treak will be towards Chhukung Ri. Its easy climb from where sight of Ama Dablam and Amphu Labcha are much more adorable. We come back to Chhukung for night stay.

Day 10: Cross to Kongma La pass (5535m/18,159ft), trek to Lobuche (4940m/16,210ft): 10km, 6 - 7 hours

We will be leaving early since it will be the trek to the highest part of the whole trip. We will be passing Kongma La pass (5535m). The waving Buddhist prayer flags with chill wind marks the highest pass. Now we descent slowly against the rocky wavy ways. It might be difficult while descending but steadiness and carefulness will take us happily to our destination. We will be walking along the North through Khumbu Glacier for Lobuche.  We will spend night at Lobuche.

Day 11: Lobuche to Gorak Shep (5170 m/16,961ft), Everest Base Camp (5364 m/17,594 ft): 13 km, 6/7 hours

The day will take you to see the beauty of Gorakshep Lake. Some ascent and misleading way will head to Everest Base Camp so need to follow our guide this day. There will be rocky way with thin and chilly air. Moraines and stream will be on the way with giant mountains, Nuptse, Khumbutse and Pumori on the surrounding. Tents of mountaineers will be seen upon reaching the Everest Base Camp. It will be seen as a city market of Light in the lap of great Mt. Everest while in evening.

We will be back to Gorakshep for our night stay. However for the astonishing view of sunset, we can go to Kalapatthar during sunset in this day and need to coordinate with the guide. The scenario will be blessing to your journey. 

Day 12: Gorak Shep to Kala Patthar (5545 m/18,192 ft), Lobuche (4940 m/16,207 ft): 7km, 8/ 9 hours

We will be leaving early morning in the dawn. The Mt Everest will be ready to reveal its beauty with the familiar peaks as Lingtren, Khumbutse and Changtse. From Kala Pathhar the very close and formidable view of Mt. Everest is the reason why you are there for. There will be time for clicks and adhere the beauty of great Mt Everest and the Himalayan ranges

We will descent to Lobuche for our night stay.

Day 13: Lobuche to Dzongla (4830m/15,850 ft): 6km, 3 - 4 hours

We again catch up downhill alongside the Khumbu Glacier. We will follow our guide strictly as we might encounter some confusing trails on the way. The Stupas and Tombstones will remind us the mountain culture and their belief. We will have some ascent that take us to Chola Tsho Lake. After a while crossing Chola River we reach Dzongla and stay overnight there.

Day 14: Trek to Gokyo (4800m/15,580 ft) via Cho La pass (5368m/17,611 ft): 6km, 7 - 8 hours

The day will be ascending some steep way. Yes we have view of Ama Dablam and the lofty mountains view along the way but little bit rocky steep and way with boulders make fun and challenging way. We have to pass a curve trail to a crevasse to climb Cho La Pass. There is the presence of Prayer Buddhist flags, stones and cairns. The pass is decorated with beliefs of the trekkers and mountaineers. The fabulous scene of beautiful peaks on all direction is magical. We would be gifted for our hard work.

After passing Cho La, we pass on the edges of Ngozumpa glacier, the longest glacier in Nepal. On the other side of the glacier we find series of Gokyo lake and the Gokyo village. We would spend night on the Gokyo village

Day 15: Rest day in Gokyo: Climb Gokyo Ri (5357m/17,575 ft), tour 4th and 5th Gokyo lakes: 3 - 4 hours

We will have rest on this day. We spend our time by ascending Gokyo Ri and enjoy the beautiful scenarios of Himalayas. We spend our time on nearby Lakes, visit Gokyo 4th and 5th. Cho-Oyu, Lhotse, Nuptse, Makalu and Everest are spreading their beauty in the nature. We spend the night in Gokyo village.

Day 16: Gokyo to Marlung (4210m/13,810 ft) , Renjo La Pass (5360m/17585 ft): 11km, 7 - 8 hours

We will set off the day early in the morning and descend to Renjo La Pass. Dudh Pokhari will be along with us on the way and vistas of mountains as well. Our trail might include winds, stony path and sometimes ice sleepy too. We will be passing a narrow valley with giant boulders to Lumde and to the Marlung, that lies on the bank of Bhote Koshi river. We will be staying in Marlung.

Day 17: Marlung to Namche Bazaar: 15km, 5 - 6 hours

We can witness a traditional route in this day. The route of Tibetan traders will take us to Thame. Crossing the Bhote Koshi river we descend to Taranga and Thame. There are traditional Gompa and beautiful villages. Sighting the village, people and culture we will reach to Namchhe Bazar and stay overnight there.

Day 18: Namche Bazaar to Lukla: 19 km, 6 - 7 hours

The descent will continue to make your legs shaky against the rocky steeps. We can have slow but continuous walk until the Lukla. Taking our memories, now again will be passing the suspension bridges and shores of Dudh Koshi as if they saying to visit again.

We will be in Lukla for our night stay and take rest.

 

Day 19: Fly to Kathmandu

It is time to come back to Kathmandu. With the flight in early morning, we will be taking stories with us from the land of mountains and then come to Kathmandu. The team will receive you and prepares for your accommodation.

There will be a farewell dinner in the evening to celebrate the successful completion of our journey.

Day 20: Final departure

The representatives from the Himalayan Action Treks and Tours will take you to the Airport approximately 3 hours before the scheduled flight. Hoping the journey would had been great, we would hope to see you again.
